The Master Security setting for the system must be set to Yes before Share Security can be established.
Caveat Emptor. If you do not set Master Security, any access restrictions you have made will not be enforced.
- From the main administration page select System Settings.
- Select General System Information
- Use the drop down list to change "Enable Security" to Yes.
- The server must be rebooted for this change to take effect.
Now the security for the share can be assigned.
- From the main administration page select Storage Management.
- Select Share Configuration.
- Click on Security (column on the right)
- Place a check in the box next to the name of the user allowed access.
- Click on Save.
Firmware version 3.0 and higher have the option of setting security for files and folders.
