How to create a Share
- From the main administration page select Storage Configuration.
- Select Share Configuration.
- Click on the Create Share link.
- Select the RAID group the new share will apply to.
- Click on Continue
- There are three option for select the share path:
- Accept the current path (ex: /RAID) by clicking on Use Current Path.
- Append the path to include a new directory.
- Or use the links under the Select a Different Path heading to navigate to an existing subdirectory. Or modify this option by appending a directory to an existing subdirectory.
- Click on Use Current Path to continue.
- If you are creating a new directory a message screen explains what you have chosen to do. You can abort the share creation process by on exit.
- If everything is correct, click on OK.
- Enter the new ShareName. The system will default to SHARE0001.
- Assign Attributes
- Retain Windows Attributes. The system default is checked/Yes. This means that all files/folders moved into the share will retain their original Windows attributes (Archive, Hidden, ReadOnly).
- Public Share, ReadOnly, Hidden. The system default is unchecked. This effectively means that the share is ReadWrite.
- Share Via. Select the modes/protocols to use for the share.
- Click on Save
The new share has been created. Security can be applied to the share.
