How to create a Share

  1. From the main administration page select Storage Configuration.
  2. Select Share Configuration.
  3. Click on the Create Share link.
  4. Select the RAID group the new share will apply to.
  5. Click on Continue
  6. There are three option for select the share path:
    1. Accept the current path (ex: /RAID) by clicking on Use Current Path.
    2. Append the path to include a new directory.
    3. Or use the links under the Select a Different Path heading to navigate to an existing subdirectory. Or modify this option by appending a directory to an existing subdirectory.
  7. Click on Use Current Path to continue.
  8. If you are creating a new directory a message screen explains what you have chosen to do. You can abort the share creation process by on exit.
  9. If everything is correct, click on OK.
  10. Enter the new ShareName. The system will default to SHARE0001.
  11. Assign Attributes
    1. Retain Windows Attributes. The system default is checked/Yes. This means that all files/folders moved into the share will retain their original Windows attributes (Archive, Hidden, ReadOnly).
    2. Public Share, ReadOnly, Hidden. The system default is unchecked. This effectively means that the share is ReadWrite.
    3. Share Via. Select the modes/protocols to use for the share.
  12. Click on Save

The new share has been created. Security can be applied to the share.
