Virtual CD Server - Axonix

TurboCaching a CD
What is TurboCaching?
TurboCaching is the automated process fo copy the CD data onto the internal hard drive(s) of the Virtual CD Server. A TurboCached CD is visable as a subdirectory of the Virtual Volume (Virtual). By mapping users to this single volume/share, all TurboCached CDs are accessible.

The Process

  1. Start the CD-Vision Administrator program.
  2. Logon to the Virtual CD Server.
    1. Once you are logged onto the Virtual CD Server the Handshake icon will change to the hands touching (no red X)
  3. Click on the Console button.
  4. Click on the Volumes List tab.
  5. Insert a CD in the drive bay of the Virtual CD Server.
    1. It may take up to 90 seconds for the disc to "spin up".
    2. After spin up click the refresh button in the CD-Administrator window.
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the Volumes List window, the CD-ROM will appear at the bottom as Device Type CD-ROM, Volume Name xxxxx, Volume Path 0 as Master [P].
  7. Highlight the volume and click on the TurboCache button at the top of the screen.
  8. Select the drive letter for the hard drive partition you wish to copy the CD onto.
    1. Caveat Emptor. Drive letter C may be offered as an option, but it is unavailable. Do not attempt to turbo-cache a disc to drive letter C.
  9. Click on Start Now.
    1. If there is not enough space to copy the disc onto the partition an error message will tell you this, and return you to the Volumes List window.
    2. Select a new drive letter.
  10. A progress bar will indicate the status of the turbo-caching/copying process.
  11. When finished the TurboCached disc will appear as X as TurboCache Volume [P].
  12. Dismount the physical disc by highlighting it (the Master) and clicking on the Dismount button.
  13. The drive bay door will open and the disc will be ejected.
  14. Repeat these steps as necessary.

Delete a TurboCached disc
A deleted TurboCached disc is completely removed from the system. This is unlike the Windows Recycle Bin

  1. Highlight the TurboCache volume you wish to remove.
  2. Click on the Dismount button at the top of the screen.
