Sharing Printers

1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Open the Printers
3. Highlight the device printer that is to be shared.
4. Click once on the right mouse button. A small pop-up menu will open.
5. Select the "Sharing" option.
6. Click on the "Shared as:" radio button. The sharing options will become available for editing.
   1. The "Share name" is the name by which the device will appear on the network.
   2. To restrict access to the unit, place a password in the appropritate field. Anyone attempting to print to this device will be required to enter this password.
7. Click on the OK button when done. The icon of the newly shared printer will now have a blue arm/hand holding it - indicating that it is shared.

A similar process is used to share files and folders.
